note on originality of submissions
All papers should be written to reach a highly
interdisciplinary readership. This type of conference
tends to force many details
to be left out in the papers that would be
expected for instance in a journal article. We
encourage authors to cut down technical and
experimental details to a minimum so that the
publication of experimental data in the
conference proceeding does not preclude the same
work from appearing in a journal later on. That
said, we expect that a conference paper
that is expanded into a journal article includes
a substantial amount of additional material and
experimental details. However, we will not accept
papers that are simply modified or shortened
versions of journal papers. Please be reminded
that the Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence
(where the proceedings will appear) are a highly
respected series and that the book is considered an archival publication.
